We covered this upthread, but the gist is the forum software has depreciated BBCode in favor of HTML source, and for obvious reasons I can't give people the ability to edit/create HTML. That being said, there is a preview button on the toolbar  that allows you to preview your post to make any tweaks needed. I know it's not the same as writing BBCode (which BTW still does work, it's just not supported). For example:

I distinctly remember being able to resize in Chrome - I wonder if one of the recent Chrome updates killed that? Wouldn't think so, since that's some pretty basic Javascript...

Same here, seen it on the desktop now too. I don't dig the "humanist" style, the Roboto we had before felt cleaner. And it's too large right now but feels like it's going to look wide at any size.

Yeah, and resizing the page size makes it either slightly too large or slightly too small.

That reminds me, we used to be able to click on the number of replies next to a topic on the (sub)forum index, and see how many posts everyone had in that topic.

Can we still do that? Haven't figured out how, in any case.

that list of currently reading was there you're right. but it was just who was reading at the moment, or within the last 10-15 minutes, not a log of literally anyone who ever read it, by time. it was also tied to the 'anonymous' status where you wouldn't show up in the main "WHO'S ONLINE: 17 MEMBERS, 6 ANONYMOUS, 90 GUESTS (SEE FULL LIST)" so if you were 'anonymously' reading the new ragnar EKT thread, no one would ever know. i'm assuming the 'who's reading' list as it is now is NOT tied to that anonymity preference. i'm guessing the 'WHO WAS ONLINE: 313 USERS WERE ONLINE IN THE LAST 24 HOURS' list is also not tied to the anonymity preference either. 

new way is a ledger book of literally everyone who walked into the wank-yourself-in-the-seats porno theater and when they were last there. old way was standing outside for 15 minutes and seeing if you noticed anyone walking in or out. big difference. didn't like the old way either tbh, but new way is weird, really don't like.

New font sucks.

I'm not sure if there is an updated version of that addon (it was an addon; not a standard feature), and this was added due to requests by other users to know who read their threads (I can see this being useful for EKT or YLC-related stuff).

Nosy EKTers who want to shame people who check their threads but don’t interact? Okay...noted as another reason not to visit the site.

It sounds like you have a real issue with this - does anybody else? Should we restrict the addon to just Mods?

I mean, it's a bit of a moot point when you think about it -  you can see all of a member's posts in a certain topic as well (the small magnifying glass), assuming they participated in the thread...

We should have some control over our anonymity. If I choose to post, I know that will be logged in perpetuity, but my visiting a thread shouldn't be. Kind of creepy and unnecessary.

are you just half ass reading things i post? i know you're not dumb. we're not talking about member's posts, we're talking about literally anyone even opening a thread, that's logged, timestamped, and put on display to any of the hundreds (thousands?) of members of the site. not saying anyone could do anything nefarious with this info, but it goes markedly against the 'anonymous browsing' or whatever it's called setting....moreover it's just creepy and i can't fathom any idea as to why anyone would need this info: mods included. logging the /number/ of users or guests is fine, even displaying that publicly i can sorta understand (still don't like it tho), but you have to see how this is very different.

Okay, fair enough - addon will be removed, but you really should understand (and accept) that nothing, ever you do online is truly anonymous - everything is tracked, everything is recorded, and the best we can hope for is this information isn't used against us in a detrimental way.

That being said, I don't think the fact that you viewed a thread being recorded is jeopardizing anything - especially as a logged in user of the site.

Okay - added the "Recently Browsing" to the bottom of threads, so now it just shows who has been recently browsing a thread, and is not permanent.
