Jan 6 committee abruptly holding a hearing Tomorrow on “recently obtained evidence” 1pm eastern. I’m going to stealthily listen in at work on NPR. 
 

Have any of you been listening to any of the hearings? Have these hearings changed anyones mind?

it was a big hearing, even among these big hearings. tuesday's hearing with meadows aid cassidy hutchinson gave us a pretty good look at the inner circle before and during january 6th, and what she revealed includes some really crazy stuff. the hearings are having an impact. in addition to the public impact, we are seeing doj take the info dump from the house committee and run with it. they raided clark and eastman last week.

here's the hutchinson testimony, which is incredibly raw and dramatic. it's not 6 hours, if you skip to the hearing, it's 90 minutes. 

So lets hope the jan 6th committee will continue doing what they’re currently doing. Not interested in having this unhinged buffoon anywhere near the white house again…

but unhinged buffoons are a usa specialty. there are tons of them out there. they are all angry at some unknown force that displeases them, but they can't really pinpoint exactly what that is. and they listen to their circle jerk social medias/crazy cable news channels telling them this is all some sick dem fantasy land witch hunt game, trying to put a good orange man down. I hope these angry people are a bit calmer knowing scotus is doing all their angry work for them. Lots of the evangelicals supported orange fruitcake because of this. And only this. So now that their wishes have come true, they might go for a somewhat less unhinged buffoon. Like florida beach guy. Of course, they still like a combative conservative eager to fight against liberalism. The unhinged bit though, i think they might pass on that one.

not calmer. just more emboldened. fascists showing up a story time w/drag queens and threatening/intimidating etc. i hope people start fighting back more like how those proud boys got pepper sprayed the other day when they showed up at a bookstore having it's story time for kids. 

Overfixating on Trump in particular is a liberal conception of the situation being characterized by reactionary conservatism and fascism being falsely associated only with its most recent figurehead.  Given that fascism is the hard clenched first of the owning class smashing down upon the working class to extract more obedience and profits through various techniques, what is needed is the reverse, a socialist revolution taking away their power entirely and putting production into the hands of the workers.  Only then can the workers be free to work as they themselves determine is best through a system of socialist education systems and a complete lack of any proprietary information, instead the sharing of knowledge and production capabilities and communal allocation of them to the most socially necessary labor

dunno why I bother, but I can't help but ask - how do you know so assuredly that once the workers are "free," that they are going to automatically band together and "share knowledge" or whatever other things you always talk about on here? do you really think that's what will happen? if so, could you please provide an example of this happening on a mass scale at any point in human history, and provide proof it actually worked out well for all involved.

You have no faith in humanity itself and you believe we need hierarchical private property based organizations.  You think workers simply will not be able to work anymore if not for CEOs telling us what to do and if not for intellectual "property" rights preventing workers from sharing proprietary knowledge.

hey thanks for telling me what I think and believe. you've obviously lumped me into some category different than yourself. you of course are in the "right" group, meaning I must be in the wrong one, and am therefore inadequate compared to what your thoughts & beliefs are. I believe in some definitions, your assumption is also referred to as "arrogance." but you of course would not fall prey to such a concept, as you are all about communism, therefore we're all supposed to be equal, right?

for the record, I live in what's called reality, and have a pretty good guess what would happen if the "workers" all banded together and gave a big F U to the man. they are not all going to be sharing knowledge and helping advance the greater good, they are going to be taking care of them and their own, as if they were like most other humans.

Well the banding together ought to happen before the "freeing" - that's what made the revolution in Vietnam, China or Cuba successful, the opposite (banding together afterwards) causes vacuums of power which many greedy opportunists are more than ready to fill. This is why ideology is important.

where did you read this? in my post right above yours? I don't think I came across as having contempt for any workers, or worshipping any owning class.
