I like bits of this but it wasn't what I was hoping for.

Some of the tracks are quite similar in places and it's not as long as I was hoping for, but then there's the free download singles! The Broadcast one's very different from anything else I've heard from him, not entirely my bag, which is disappointing cos I dig some of Broadcasts output. Hopefully the others will house what I crave

Im looking forward to hearing it at a higher bitrate, perhaps it will grab me more then. It is growing on me though and Empty The Bones Of You was a bit of a struggle for me at first.

Thought it was weird how Warp billed it though:

"the drill and bass workouts of older work seem to have been left behind"

Unless I've missed out on some early demo's or something, I'm not sure why they'd say that, he's played some beauty drill and bass type stuff live but hardly a great amount of it. ..eh.

Not sure how I'd classify this album in terms of genre?

lol! i'm buying the album on vinyl and cd, so, don't worry about that

jesus christ this is a good album. a hell of a lot more ambitious, inventive, and downright better than anything chris has done before to my ears.

i agree. i never bothered to check out the leak (aka couldn't find it), and i just picked it up today, it's fucking good. really liking it so far.

i should be getting it today. i ordered teh vinylll. it's gonna be so pure.

Bastards didn't have it in yet. They ordered it though and are expecting it any day now. I've read a lot of hype around this being THE electronic album of the millenia, so I've got as high expectations for it as I remember ever having for any album. Hope that doesn't soften the impact!

i dunno, it's not that great. it's really well done, but i don't think it touches the classic quality of some aphex or boards material

i'm still on the high of getting deeper into the sound, like, just realizing that there's a ton of stuff there that you didn't notice during the first 10 listens. this needs a stoned/tripping listen

I take it you're talking about the hype when you say it's terrible, rather than the album being terrible. I'm pretty sure I'm going to think it's awesome. I thought Empty the Bones of You showed incredible promise for things to come, and from the low quality samples I've heard of Body Riddle I don't think it will disappoint. I really think he is the most promising new artist of the last five years in the electronic music vein. He's making the genre exciting again.

yeah it's funny, my opinion when i first heard it, six weeks ago, was solid disappointment; but now i'm pretty sure it's his best album. but definitely different; he should have released the throttle furniture ep as 'chris clark', not clark.

fuck, the free 3" cd you get with it is better than the album ffs, NICE

yeah the tracks are a lot catchier.. i think the album flows together better though. i mean, i wouldn't replace any of the album's tracks with the mini's tracks.

this really isnt a very great album and it certainly doesnt propel him amongst warp greats he couldnt be further.
