ICBYD is my least favorite RDJ material (could get me crucified around here), so I am kinda hoping it doesn’t revolve around that

if/when the new forum does come up, my suggestion would be to keep it real simple subforum-wise, at least at first. One for general electronic music discussion, one for one's own tracks, and then maybe an offtopic board. if there's an uptick in particular kinds of activity then start moving threads. the less ambiguity there is about where to put threads the easier it is to participate i think.

Hey, I'm collecting the serious submissions in a google doc and once this thread is locked in about a day, will put up a quick two-day poll. I was going to go with a winner takes all format, but we could do multiple round voting, if there is a preference for that? Will just add to the timelines.

Probably the standard format to allow for multi-choice.

Quick timeline is both to mitigate this site going dark suddenly (not sure when the registration for the domain expires) and to enable a speedier set-up of the new place. But if there's appetite to extend the poll to the end of the week and then week-end for the championship rounds we can do that. Not sure about the changing votes thing, will check into it.

Maybe a first multichoice turn to narrow it down to a few options that can be debated, and then if there's not a huge winner a second single-choice turn?

Yeah I think we'll definitely go with the multichoice option first.

Pretty sure whois uses the more internationally accepted YYYY/MM/DD. Regardless, with joyrex's caution in mind, that's part of the urgency.

I'll throw in a vote for We Care Because You Do. Its not an exact rip of an Aphex title, but it still has the recognition. And it carries forward the W from WATMM without being too on the nose. I think it works well.
