I don't know, "keyosc" to me just seems like a neutral WATMM meme, I don't necessarily associate it with Ae, despite the bonus track on Exai. I'm not too worried about a new forum being biased one way or the other, I think that naturally happens when one big featured artist is active and putting out new tunes. It will stand to sway from Aphex at times, to Ae, and even to BoC if they ever release anything again.

I just hope there is a great sense of community, and I hope to be more active in the non-featured artists thread this time around

If you find people are talking more about autechre than aphex, it's probably because autechre still release music

If I was being a pedantic dick about it, which I very much am, I would point out that Aphex has released both the Black Box Life Recorder EP & Merch From The Merch Desk comp since the last Autechre album or EP.

i doubt that’s a worry you need to take too seriously. lots of folks here love sharing & discussing music well outside the bounds of Autechre, Aphex, etc. if the new forum struggles it’ll be because people are afraid of what you’re saying & don’t carry themselves over…but the act of sharing & leaning things in the directions you want will lean the community that way, that’s how it’s worked here for years. 

if you like seeing lots of XXXXX types of artists shared & enjoyed here, then you’ve got to make the posts & converse about these things. make a mixtape. hunt down some old shit Aphex plays in his DJ sets & post about it. idk. the Aphex subf is plenty active, in theory there may be even new/more featured artist subforums at keyosc. it’ll be cool and as interesting as everyone chooses to make it.

a couple threads ago i advocated for the new forum having only 3 subforums to start with (General Music Discussion, EKT equivalent, Off Topic), which, uhh, i continue to advocate for here. threads are basically categories in and of themselves. keep it clean, simple. lets not be like most discord servers that make 20 channels for 10 users
