Naming the new home: THE FINALS

This whole thread and naming process has been the worst experience of my life, which is some going considering my genitals were eaten by a wild pig when I was a child.

keyosc is a pretty neutral name. not many people outside the ae forum will get that obscure reference.

personally i would like to see the new WATMM open up & become more diverse with the subforums instead of just representing the old guard, which would help bring new members in over time & those members might then also contribute to the EKT & General Banter areas, etc. i think it would work to have a wider forcus on experimental electronic music in general instead of just strictly 'idm'. for example, is Vladislav Delay & all his side-projects idm? not sure, but i would love to see a subforum for his work & think it would fit in here. it's nice to have a subforum for artists who have a decent body of work instead of just a single thread, which can be hard to follow or find things in if they have been going for a while.

Yeah, goes without saying we should drop all the weird arbitrary rules about what goes where and who's deemed significant enough to discuss in depth.

there's not generally enough traffic for dedicated forums of different artist is there? i think the "New releases"  section catches a lot of the other stuff out there but there's only so many artists w/a body of work and longevity to support all the endless chatter about all the things. the Lore.

a lot of artists get a fair shake here i think though... perhaps subforum for different labels? raster, schematic etc?  but i guess some artists release on many labels.. 

i don't know.. once the new thing starts let's just see how it goes i suspect it'll grow organically.

Yeah sub forums are really distinguishing what kind of users are actually using the forum. I have seen another forum removing basically all artist related sub forums over night which lead to a pretty empty general banter crowd that didn’t care much about music in the long run
