welcome to europe is the biggest giveaway possible. whoever made this is obviously just taking the piss and seeying exactly how much he can get away with with you bunch of fucking muppets.

Squarepusher would never ever make a track like this because

1/ the little bass sound is weak as fuck and goes out of tune against the chords throughout the whole song.

2/the pads sound like a cheap softsynth attempt at getting the tundra4 sound.

seriously theres a long way to go yet.

the chord structure of the chords with this pad is just insane. since when was it acceptable to put endless chords that are not in key with eachother into one track?

3/ all that wouldnt be so bad if the lead line wasnt the most aweful whiney little earache of a sound that is rarely ever anywhere near in tune throughout the whole track.

4/ not only are the drums barely programmed to sound any different from their original state on the jungle warfare sample cd but they havnt even been processed in any way.

have you all gone completely fucking nuts? seriously now has it really been that long since you last listened to squarepusher?

idiots

what do you need besides confirmation from joyrex and people that know squarepusher personally, as well as people that physically have copies of the promo?

tell me who knows squarepusher that has confirmed this

Are you going to kill yourself when this is revealed as the real album?

there is not a single note out of key in "welcome to europa". it's a pretty simple chord progression that is transposed in several keys throughout the song. use your ears. there is not even a remotely dissonant sounding note in there.

lol

you joker

kazuo's right. guess you never heard of key modulation.

the album is clearly made to be accesible. so that's why you don't find the annoying kind of beats that you love so much wich is the only specific critique i've found of the album.

it has lots of squelchy acid-esque line all over wich should be enough for most of you to cream your pants since it's all the rage lately.

it's has great music.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

it's got squarepusher's distinct reverb too

who ever thinks this is fake it's obviously not listening, hasn't listener to latest squarepusher stuff or has an actual fake copy made by his granny. it's so obviously SP stop the nonsense the album is great, at some point you gotta stop the "electronic music gimmickery" this is not an electronic music album, get that.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

Well, wot a shocker... 'Hello Everything' is really very good!

I for one am glad to see Tom returning to a, simpler, more accessible sound.

I wish Autechre would take a pissin' leaf out of Tom's book. :fear:

Lindrum Larry Cocopipe is going to feel like shit in less than a few weeks... :)

come on... i must agree with philip thomson on this one, listen to Crips Chronicles.

it might give you a chance to understand tom's new album, and realise that proper artists are free to do whatever they want, and that they don't waiste their time thinking about what the others are thinking about their work...

art is only about being honest with yourself and what you're creating, and tom did it in his last album, again...........

I'm pretty much a total noob to this forum, so I expect you'll all completely disregard my opinions because of this.

However, since this argument seems to be turning sourer and sourer by the minute, I may as well voice my opinions.

If this album, is by anyone other than Squarepusher, then I'd like to meet them since they are an exceptional musician, both in terms of actual technique, and composition.

With the exception of track 5, this is a brilliant album. It's taken a few listens to warm to it, but it makes a great addition to my collection, REGARDLESS of whether its Squarepusher or not.

And surely thats the point, is it good music?

I'm sick to deasth of people dancing to the name rather than the music. People hype up all sorts of things simply because of the name printed of the cover, and same thing happens the other way round. People instantly dismiss something because of the name on it too.

I think that most of you had already made up your minds wwwaaaayyy before you heard this CD. It wouldnt matter how good this album was, it wouldnt live up to your expectations.

If you take this album for what it is, without trying to "understand" it, just LISTEN to it, then maybe it'll make a little more sense. It is a well put together album of very nice, mature, and enjoyable music.

As we all know, its a waste of time trying to second guess what squarepusher's latest efforts will sound like. DYK was a massive suprise and at fitst I wasnt too sure, but its really grown on me, and is one of my favourite warp releases. The same goes for Ultravisitor, wasnt what I was expecting, but great none-the-less.

Exactly the same with Hello Everything. I just gave up trying to imagine what it would sound like, and just listened with an open mind. I was suprised, but really happy.

The impression I got was that the album felt like a culmination of a lot of his older styles. An attempt to unify his different styles which I thought was really sucesful. Many of the tracks bare similarities to his older work, but with more maturity than before, more depth than before.

What doesnt suprise me is that there is only 1 track with a full on Amen mashup drum track. I thimk Squarepusher was instantly associated with this sort of track after go plastic, and has been trying to loose this ever since. I kinda feel sorry for him because he seems to have several groups of fans. Some like the "super jungle" of go plastic, some like the jazzy-ness wig out of HND, and some like the melody driven DnB of Big loada. Ultimately, the chances of him releasing one album to satisfy all are slim to none. But this album comes increadibly close. There is something in here for everyone, and hopefully it'll bring people round to his other material.

This definately isnt album to listen to with a closed mind. It covers all the basses, and covers them well. Its definately a grower.

As for the argument of whether it is Squarepusher or not, open your ears a little. I'll admit that the first track threw me off. But a minute into track 2 I was convinced it was 'pusher.

How anything on this album can seem dissonant is staggering to me. The chord sequences are brilliant, the melodies are catchy as hell, and the arrangement just reeks of squarepusher. What is the point in getting worked up over the lack of Amen mashing. We all know he can do it better than anyone else, there are other albums for that stuff, he's done it before and doesnt need to do it again. Makes me wonder though, if he HAD done an album of go-plasticy stuff, how many people wouldve been ranting over "its been done before" and "we're bored of the amen" etc etc.

Seems like you lot are never fucking satisfied.

Sorry for bad spelling etc. Im dosed up cocodamol and typing with my left hand since i fractured my collar bone 2 days ago

best first post ever
