soundwave
Mask of the Maker- Jonas Reinhardt - funky fresh and upbeat that really appeals to my 70's retro aesthetics, fucking awesome and could be my album of the summer TM404 - seen this guy tweaking his shit on youtube for a while. excellent minimalistic work without be too minimal like the best bits of classic Plastikman and Basic Channel but certainly with a creative distinction of its own Voight & Voight - 4/4 abstract techno kinda in the same ball park as Actress but not as hipster, cool as fuck and miles away from Gas Edited April 30, 2013 by soundwave Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/169-recent-purchases-thread/page/118/#findComment-1995825 Share on other sites

Guest jasondonervan
I was at the show this was recorded at. I knew nothing of a release until I spotted it on boomklart. Tauhid
@triachus, that "Live At The St. Pierre Cathedral, Geneva" release is great. It's really all about the BJ Nilsen, Fennesz, and Philip Jeck pieces though. The Fennesz performance is one of the best things he's ever done. How is the Touch 25 comp? Yeah, Touch. should do more stuff with Spire. The organ just works so well. These releases are great too: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Spire-Live-Fundamentalis/release/1221700 http://www.discogs.com/Various-Spire-Organ-Works-Past-Present-Future/release/325751 Too bad most Fennesz fans only know about a few albums. That guy does so much stuff on the side, it's hard to keep up. I haven't listened to the Touch 25 comp yet, but it does sound interesting at first glances. Tauhid
I remember looking at those two. Might have to pick them up. Forced Exposure still has copies. And yeah, Fennesz has done a lot. Even the Field Recordings 1995:2002 comp on Touch gets overlooked. This Touch Radio performance of his is the goods: http://www.touchradio.org.uk/touch_radio_73_fennesz.html It's too bad that the bitrate is 192 kbps. European: http://www.juno.co.uk http://www.normanrecords.com http://clone.nl/instock/all (for more dance oriented stuff) American: http://experimedia.net http://www.mimaroglumusicsales.com (run by Keith Fullerton Whitman) http://www.reckless.com http://www.othermusic.com http://climbmountanalog.com/products-page/ http://www.northern-plastics.com http://www.aquariusrecords.org http://thrilljockey.com/catalog/distributed.html Experimedia, Mimaroglu, and FE are my go-to's. I've found some Ghost Box releases that were hard to find at Reckless Records, and have ordered from Aquarius and Thrill Jockey before. Experimedia usually has a sale every few months or so, i.e. spring sale going on right now. Alcofribas
^^ reckless is my local go-to record store. a few of the people who work there have a band called implodes and their lead guitarist ken camden also has a solo record. check em out if you don't know them, i bet you'll enjoy their tunes.
