Wow. This was a mixed experience.

A1: Absolutely amazing track. Great stuff. Does really have the gescom-"touch"

A2: First track on Boomkat. Doesn't do much for me, but I've never been to keen on acid. Ok I guess.

B1: 8 min long. Danceable Gescom-sound. Great

C1: Second track on Boomkat. Wonderful track. Remix of something? Very melodic.

C2: Ok? Strange stuff. Can this also be a remix of something? Totally fucked up and strange. First 3 mins lacks beats and melody, but contains lots of noise. Then it changes to funkyish techno. I wish the last part could be longer though. I guess this is the proof that the Gescom people have a lot of fun when they make music.

D1: Last track on Boomkat. Acid stuff. Like this better than the other acid-track.

Total playing time: 39.27. Well worth the money!

its also exactly like 5-6 minute versions of the 30 second samples. in fact those samples probably display the most exciting partsof the tracks.

did AE take offense to the criticism they have gotten too "artsy fartsy" with confield and draft? this gescom release definitly makes me think so. sounds like AE riding the analord coat tails.

i think all these tracks are remixes from the sound of it, although im not enough of a 35 year old ex raver to recognize them

If they took offense to criticism for getting too artsy fartsy with confield and draft then Untilted's complete lack of art is the result. Hopefully they took offense to the criticism to that piece of shit and are going back to making music.

i'd be willing to bet quite a bit of money that these are all remixes/mashups of 'classic' 80s-90s acid/hiphop tracks that i've never heard of

except that it consists entirely of remixes, and is spread across two 12"s which are released in conjunction with each other. but other than that, you're totally right

this is shit. sounds like whole tracks cut per beat then randomly played back. this is the same kind of crap as on the minidisc, bits of other stuff all processed up but not in a good way, it reminds me of v/vm-style feeding a track through a patch then releasing it.

IDs:

track a1 - not sure but the breaks in it are melvin bliss, synthetic substitution and commodores, assembly line.

track a2 - armando - downfall

track c1 -justin timberlake - cry me a river

track d1 -adonis - no way back

b1 i think i should know but can't think the noo. i kinda want to say cabaret voltaire but that's probably not right. i'm not going to bother listening to the full tracks to see if there're more identifiable parts later.

beyond the novelty train-spotting aspect this is not worth anyones cash.

so has anyone heard this justin timberlake song?!?! did AE really do a generative remix of his music? that would fucking hilarious.
