Eric Satie is the Rothko of avant guard

i dont think satie were considered as avant garde while he was writing music, i've got his whole piano stuff & loads of tracks are like "moulin rouge" mood, "paris by night"etc.. funny pieces but not always "melancoly" as you might think.
