It would really would be amazing if Aphex Twin toured with Nine Inch Nails. Ive read interviews they wanted it, just didn't happen/workout.

from what i understand, rdj didnt listen to NIN when trent commissioned remixes, just gave him tracks. when rdj got around to listening to NIN he said that he wanted to tour with them, however NIN wasnt touring at the time. i think RDJ has the masters for Heresy as a song that has extremely similar samples was played during the cunningham/aphextwin rome performance.

Sometimes this is true, he has done this. Not really anymore. Look at some of his last remixes in the past 10 years:

Beck - Richards Hairpiece

DMX Krew - You Can't Hide Your Love

Baby Ford - Normal

DJ Pierre - Box Energy

808 State - Flow Coma

These are remixes, not new tracks. Richard did the lazy route for the Nine Inch Nails tracks and for the Lemonheads. Not sure of any others he just dumped an unreleased track onto

Typically (and I think this has been stated in an interview somewhere before) is Richard only remixes the actual track if he likes it. Otherwise, he provides his own track (which most remixees are happy enough to have as it is) from his back catalogue.

Actually it's the other way around. In the 1994 Villa 65 VPRO interview he says he prefers to remix a track that isn't good (he's talking about saint etienne in this case) because then it's a challenge to make it good instead of making something that is already good.
