Nine Inch Nails comments Aphex Twin

aparently aphex twin gives anyone who wants him to remix one of their tracks the remix, an unreleased track from him aha

Sometimes this is true, he has done this. Not really anymore. Look at some of his last remixes in the past 10 years:

Beck - Richards Hairpiece

DMX Krew - You Can't Hide Your Love

Baby Ford - Normal

DJ Pierre - Box Energy

808 State - Flow Coma

These are remixes, not new tracks. Richard did the lazy route for the Nine Inch Nails tracks and for the Lemonheads. Not sure of any others he just dumped an unreleased track onto

True but, Richard has mentioned 808 state as an influence a few times, so that one makes a little sense.

He probably respects and listens to a lot more artists than his public persona would have most people believe. I'm sure he's still a nihilistic hater on most music, but given the *ahem* stuff that's signed to his co-owned record label, I'm sure he has pretty broad tastes, just needs to feed his public ego by pretending to not be interested in most other peoples music.

I can't really see him liking most the stuff on rephlex, but just wanting to give electronic musicians a chance to have a name and make a living doing what they and Richard love.

I think his comments on the YouTube track on his soundcloud dump showed just how extensive his knowledge was. I often wish he had just left that track up at least because there was some brilliant links and tracks on there and I never got round to them all. His knowledge of early Chicago House for instance was impressive and an obvious influence.

Otogi Manga Calendar was first aired in 1961, Astro Boy in 1963, so yes. I'm old enough that I remember my parents renting Dominion Tank Police for me when I was a child, back when renting VHS tapes was a thing. Hell, The Matrix was partially inspired by Ghost in the Shell (also Masamune Shirow), and pays homage to it with that market chase-and-shoot scene at the end. Animé's been here a while now. Incidentally, Ghost in the Shell's out on Blu-Ray now, and as beautiful as it ever was.

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.
