You like The Sopranos, so maybe you could go "oh cool, a single camera style premium cable show that's also on HBO and gets the same kind of praise from critics, maybe i'll check it out." People like it because it's not like television at all, specifically the shows you hate.

No need for scepticism, Its from the HBO camp, surely a seal of quality in itself, and is easily the best show on there by miles. I never thought anything would top the Sopranos until the Wire came along, its a joy.
