I think he was put off by the camera a bit, it was not my intention to shove the camera in his face. My digital camera wasn't working properly, and I just wanted to show in some way that I was able to get backstage and meet the guy somehow.

after seeing this and the tracklist im inclined to believe he just grabbed random records that happened to be laying around the venue when he arrived and played those for his set, or stopped at a local record store 30 minutes before going on stage bought the first 20 plates he saw and when he was done was just like whatever and just left all the crap behind

Well all the the interviews were he is actually serious he seems like a pretty smart and normal guy. I think it just adds to his legacy that he's such a quite and shy guy in public especially when alot of his work is anything but calm... OMG he's such a legend :embrassed:

No bribery, just kind of got lucky. SPD and I just snuck through the sides of the VIP and the Sahara Tent. It was kind of a narrow gap to get back there. Security was mainly watching the other areas that lead backstage, it was the perfect spot to sneak directly backstage, and Richard just happened to be back there. He wasn't crowded by people really, we had to walk around to find him and there wasn't that much area back stage to begin with. I will submit the video to WATMM, it should go in the RDJ Live + Broadcasts + Interviews along with the Coachella set.

BTW watch the clip in High Quality, I uploaded a high-res version.

that's some kid from Cal Arts. We didn't know him. I'm the douche holding the camera and asking about when the last time he was there to do a show. even though i knew, i was just curious if he remembered. Phonic Boy is actually in the video a little bit wearing a Heinekin beer garden wrist band. that's two Phonic Boys for the price of one video.

Found this photo on Flickr, I did see the kid running on stage, at one point a lady came up and grabbed him up. Didn't really think much of until I saw this pic. That kid looks awfully comfortable up there Richard.

No, there was no one very close to him at all, at one point a guy came up and said, "We got to get going to the bus Richard" but he left Richard alone for awhile after making the comment.

Moby always like to talk a lot of shit because it made him feel like he had the power to control the way other people felt about him.

thats exactly my reasoning. seeing a bunch of people blah blah blah isn't nearly as fun as making people think you're an asshole cause then they get all excited and tend to write more emotionally charged (if not interesting) stuff. helps pass work quicker.
