That would have been pretty funny if you forgot to turn up because you became too engrossed in the thread about your gig. :teeth:

actually i'm waiting for a friend to turn up, we're all gonna jump in a taxi together. and this nemiroff honey pepper vodka is doing a lot of good for me right now! my nerves are all over the place, for the first time in forever. i never get nervous, what the hell!

Some memorable moments from the night presented in point form once again.

(Please note: many of the things that stick in my mind are things that I

said or did because I'm a narcissistic bastard.)

MODEYGLITCH-1.jpg

-Modey's whispery time-delayed beat-boxing.

-His use of a motorized (I think) device that created sustained notes on

his guitar strings (care to elaborate Modey?).

-Deciding that any bar that has book shelves full of art text books and

board-games may be too geeky even for people from the Internet.

-Tagging the toilet wall with "WATMM".

-Me inviting everyone back to Modey's house without asking him first.

-Mass exodus of the audience before the final band.

-Me, Pigster and Dagger driving down Brunswick St with windows open and

V Snares blaring. I was enjoying this, so much so that I didn't realise that

one of the traffic-lights was red until I went through it.

-9 people gathered around a tiny eeePC watching the download progress bar.

-My serious IT question: "Is there a program for downloading stuff?"

-Checking out Modey's vast and varied guitar collection including a really

nice fret-less Fender bass (which I am going to steal at some point when he's

not looking).

-Interpreting Magma lyrics.

-Modey air drumming to Phil Collins, very similar to this:

-Real-life rolling lols.

it was quite a good night! maan i got pretty trashed. i guess it was those chillies at the bottom of the bottle of vodka that did it, heh.

.. and i didn't get a recording of my set. ah well, it was pretty chaotic anyway, mostly due to the fact that i wasn't used to standing up and having a table, also if i tried to move anything it'd all unplug, heheh. next time i'm getting a damn pedal box!

another memorable moment was xf managing to quote "stop over downloading" every minute or so at one point, though this might have something to do with the constant repetition drilling the quote well into my head :)

next friday qua is playing at wintertones, which is $26 or so but has a whole bunch of other bands/artists playing.

last night was a lot of fun

echo, this is twice now you've failed hard on the watmm meet up front :P

third time lucky I guess.

i didn't have a codec to watch that, stupid eee pc, so i uploaded it to youtube:

but awesome, you actually captured some of the part that actually didn't sound too bad! before i started repeating the chords from eggshell over and over, heh.

woah, ashamed to say i'm not too familiar with incunabula and didn't pick up on the eggshell chords. also, your description before the set was "solo guitar ambience set". nowhere in this description do you mention ds beats or mouth percussion noises, both a nice surprise! :)
