Personally for me, there is no good outcome for being closed minded when it comes to instruments/sounds to use within audio.

he used an ms20 like a guitar, complete w/ whammy phace

p.s., while we're here - mad respect for that moment in come to daddy where the track seems to start to decay, all the lows disappear and it kind of goes to one ear... mirrored in a lovely manner with video fx in the music vid!

Is the question "does he hate using guitars?" or is it "does he hate the sound of guitars?"

the only way to get an interesting sound out of a guitar nowadays is to avoid at all costs picking it up like some rock choad... to see it as an odd object and not as a historic instrument.

he's used real instruments in his music like piano, violin, pizzicato(sp?), harmonica etc. how is that being close minded. guitars is the one instrument that has been done to death, there's little to innovate. so it's understandable he doesn't use them, and it just wouldn't fit with the kind of music he does imo.

The 808's been used to death, but he still uses it a lot.

Guitars can sound like anything and come to daddy is essentially a filtered out guitar distortion. I mean, with the exception of come to daddy sounding like a guitar-ish, there is no other tracks.

It's a shame because it's just as beautiful sounding as any other instrument and just because something has been used and experimented with a lot is hardly a reason to avoid it. Avoiding it is only going to lessen the variety of your tracks.

Listen to the end of his remix of let my fish loose on 26 mixes for cash, he doesn't use the guitar of course, but he doesn't seem to dislike it that much if he uses it in one of his tracks. The only track that features guitar as far as i know is that one though.

Why should he force himself to like guitars just because it could make him look more open minded?
