i've been listening to mostly new stuff lately...

brian eno - taking tiger mountain (by strategy)/here come the warm jets/another green world

don't ask me to pick one of those. always and forever in my top 5.

squarepusher - just a souvenir

his boldest, most interesting move yet. great to see him explore territory uncharted for him.

the advisory circle - other channels/belbury poly - the owl's map/the focus group - hey let loose your love

again, don't ask me to pick one. ghost box records goodness, wonky loops, eldritch happenings, what we thought the future would be like in the 70s

trim - soul food vol 1/2/3 mixtapes

the weirdest mc in grime is at his best on mixtapes. he's like the mf doom of grime in the way he fucks with words and uses crazy metaphors

this heat - this heat/deceit

lost gem of a post-punk band from the late 70s/early 80s. they did crazy shit with looping and mixing desks and early sampling techniques, and their music reeks of cold war dread. also their recording studio was a converted meat locker which they called cold storage.

okay so i listed 12 albums lol but i urge you to investigate those you are unfamiliar with. this is good shit.

this sounds like an airplane landing on a minefield

jerry goodman & jan hammer - like children (listen to this nice little album from members of mahavishnu orchestra. some pretty sweet synth stuff with drums and bass)

neil young - after the goldrush (he's just the master is all)

david hurley - outer nebula inner nebula (incredible local free jazz percussionist, solo material in the vein of sun ra, et al)

sun ra - night of the purple moon

lime - sensual sensation (80's hi-NRG dance music. to me, lime is really fucking legendary. if you're not familiar with lime, go read about them. then check out their music)

my last post was my top 5 albums of alltime,

however, 5 albums i am currently into at the moment...

new order - movement

frederic chopin - complete piano works (maybe this shouldn't count haha)

erik satie - piano works ( the one performed by pascal roge)

bonobos - hover hover

eleanoora rosenholm - ala kysy kuolleitta, he sanoivat
