Yellow Magic Orchestra - Solid State Survivor (1979)

Cool Calm Pete - Lost (2006)

King Tubby - King Tubby's Dance Hall Style Dub (1974)

Theophilus London - Jam! (2008) (mixtape from a unknown NY rapper, the highlight is the production/mixing by Machine Drum)

Metro Area - a couple mix cds of 12"s

i dont recognize any of those artists ,i dont belong on WATMM

YMO is kinda like a Japanese version of Devo, if they were obsessed with computer games and synthesizers

Cool Calm Pete is nice laid back Hip Hop by a dude from the East Coast

King Tubby is probably the best dub I've heard other than Keith Hudson's stuff, you'll get a contact high just listening to this

Metro Area has that kind of early house/disco revival sound but it's done better than most

What happened to David Cross?

Have you checked out YMOs Technodelic? I think it's the next one after SSS.

It lives up to its title and contains their best track Light In Darkness

Bones Of Seabirds - Sacrament

Godspeed You Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O

Natural Snow Buildings - Night Coercion Into the Company of Witches

Yoga - split with Ghast

Lustmord - Other

No, Solid State Survivor is only the second album I've heard from YMO. I didn't think they'd be able to top the first album. But this shit is crazy! I'll definitely be working my way through the rest of their catalogue.

Gas - Köenigsforst

Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians

The Field - From Here We Go Sublime

Sasha - Airdrawndagger

808 State - Newbuild

so what makes this so amazing? youve been raving about for quite a while... i havent heard vibert in ages..

does someone else care to answer?

best record of 2008

maybe it makes me nostalgic for a time (15 yrs ago) when there wasnt a billion shitty "idm" producers and you had to wait for a record to come out and buy it in order to hear it

maybe its something to do with vibert and simmonds and the brilliant tracks on the record

This makes me nostalgic about music full-stop. A 'leak' in my day was something that you could seemingly take in public willy-nilly without risk of an eighty quid fine.
