It looks familiar . . . I think it's on my wife's Wish List.  She has more to do with the GameCube than I do . . .

The wiki doesn't sound like a typical game, what's your general opinion of it? Wait, I read about this one before, it's the one that displays warnings that supposedly come from the television or GameCube itself if your "sanity" gets low. That was a big turnoff for me.

ya, it was a lot of fun! It kind of reminds me of Zelda meets Resident Evil. I actually re-bought this game to play it again as I had sold it off after beating it.

You say a lot of fun, but I'll ask you, would it be fun for someone who cannot stand more than 15 hours of a horror game?  I, um, know somebody whose friend can't play horror games, so, I was curious.

srsly. i think its realistic to say there's some confusion here. i mean you thought Mario Sunshine was better. you might be losing your mind.

Well, it isn't exactly a straight forward horror game. You play as many different characters throughout many time periods. It is more of an adventure game like Zelda. Your 'main' character is in a mansion but you find different scrolls that take you to other characters and you play through that part of the story.

mario sunshine was alot of fun. you were unrestricted to go anywhere and spin the camera as you went. metroid prime was really restrictive. go into a room press a certain button to highlight areas that you could interact with to open another door. even the guns were restrictive. granted i didnt get very far. i'm guessing it got better as you went along. i just didnt like it.

So more "weird adventure" than "kinda creepy"? Sounds alright.

I found my second copy on ebay for about $15 a couple years back. I was also just sitting in class and I remembered this game Beyond Good & Evil. It was a pretty good adventure game too, not sure if it's been mentioned yet.

Yes, they did. BTW I forgot to mention Resident Evil 4. How could I forget?

Found a copy, just the disc, no box or booklet.  Played up to the fourth character, the one in India.  The hallucination stuff is a bit jarring sometimes, but our television doesn't display Volume or Line the way it's depicted in the game, so those are easy to deal with.

I went to bed afterwards, and dreamt of hundreds of people being burned alive.  No sleeping aid involved.

ok.

can we come to a somewhat census of what i NEED for gamecube?

i'm getting Mariokart cause i love that game

but i also want something a bit older and darker. you know.

is there someway to compile the nessecities of gamecube? like maybe ten games>

give your top ten, or five or whatever, i'll get the most loved together and make a poll so i know what i should buy right away.

nah i kinda want, for one, to start a meaningful poll

and for two, find out which games that a somewhat likeminded crew of folks enjoy the most. i trust a lot of watmmites opinions on games and i'd like a short list of games i NEED to play so i can check em out. otherwse there are like 45 games in this thread and god knows which i should check out.

well the game that made me fall in love with the gamecube was zelda:wind waker.

you need that (if you can get the two-disc version with the GC refixes of ocarina, even better).

and the game that reaffirmed that love was pikmin. so you need that too.

and for a short but sweet treat, luigis mansion, if you can find a copy.

for a hard game which will last, try super mario sunshine (a lot of people hate this for being INSANELY hard, but i like a bit of lastability.

on my wii, i play pikmin 2 and the GC version of resident evil 4.

i recommend those also.
