What does 'music is math' actually mean and does it relate to their obsession with patterns, symetry and geometry. (Cover art and patterns in music)

Oh, and do other warp artists like aphex twin and squarepusher etc. actually like Boc, cuz ive never read anything saying they do.

I think Squarepusher probably hates BoC, he hates the other musicians on Warp in general (apart from AFX of course). Dunno about Aphex, I think I read somewhere he had recieved a demo tape at Rephlex and with hindsight could have signed them.

As for the Music is Math thing, I think like many of Boc titles its just a phrase to sum up their musical aesthetic. I remember back when Geogaddi was on a lot of people got into it deeply, and calculated that the fibonacci ratio occurs in some of the tracks or something. Can't really remember the details.

Everything is maths when you look at it deeply enough. Music relies on time signatures and such whiuch end up being patterns in patterns in patterns.

So, there you have it.
