deadmau5 sucks

saw him lastnight on the vmas, first time I saw him or listened to anything he has done. Since weed is the first person to have mentioned him or his music I have tried to stay away. At one point he was playing some dubstep esque stuff while some faces rapped and or sung over the track.

There are a lot shittier artists out there than deadmau5 if you wanna be mundane about something.

From a producer's standpoint, I use two deadmau5/kaskade tracks as engineering benchmarks: "I Remember" and "Move For Me". This is music that really maximizes the impact of a large system. In particular, I appreciate how his kick drum slams and never gets lost in the mix.

I don't listen to these songs for intellectual stimulation. Rather, I listen when I'm having a bad day and need an endorphin rush.

Can someone explain where this knee-jerk rage comes from wherever/whenever deadmau5 is mentioned? Please, be sure to use your "big boy" words...

It's easy to understand why he's so popular. He's the most accessible electronic producer out there at the moment, and most people go for accessibility. Hell, I'm sure a lot of my friends would love RDJ or mu-ziq if either of them had some shitty mouse-head gimmick and a 5-million dollar publishing deal.

it's a shame so many would rather be lulled by entertainment than wowed by some actual art.
