Random prediction: Dishonored is going to be mediocre at best.

i agree. it just looks like one of those games that cool for about an hour but then gets boring pretty quickly due to lack of story, gameplay, and cruddy character dynamic.

I just got the Deus Ex: Human Revolution platinum. it took me 3 play-throughs cuz I kept screwing up the no alarms trophy. It's a good thing this game is so good or I just wouldn't have bothered. Has anyone here played the DE:HR dlc "Missing Link"? is it worth the money?

Missing Link is so-so. I played through it once, but on my second playthrough decided to call it quits, and I haven't touched it since.

It's basically a prison break aboard a Belltower vessel, but you don't get as many weapons and Praxis kits as you do in the main game. Honestly I don't think you're missing much if you decide to give it a pass.

I hope not. The Looking Glass pedigree gives me a shred of optimism. But lord if I'm not sick to the back teeth of first-person shooters, even stealthy ones.

I like the art style and all, but it just looks very boring and extremely disjointed. Even the animations look disjointed. Very 2006-ish.

Thanks, yeah, I looked up some reviews too. It doesn't look like it's worth $15. If it ever goes on sale I might consider it, but until then I'll pass.

I just passed the Solar Elevator sequence - the brutes weren't too hard - just Stasis them, hit their weak points (you have to be super fast to get both arms so they fall off) and make sure you're aware of where the other one breaks through the windows around you (having good surround sound helps immensely with that).

I can never hope to get the achievement for killing all the brutes in this part, I've tried many times.

So, only three saves allowed? You can still continue as much as you like, right?

ayup.

I got the trophy/achievement on my 6th try - Just stick with the good old Plasma Cutter (I use the refurbished one that transfers over from Dead Space 1 if it detects your DS1 save file).

Traded in CoD and a few others and got Max Payne 3 and Rayman Origins..

I'm probably only like 1/3 of the way into Max Payne 3's story but I'm enjoying it quite a bit, the gunplay is tight and the gritty story is great. Multiplayer is pretty fun as well...

Rayman Origins is the first game of the series I've really tried out but I'm having fun with it. It's pretty tricky at parts (especially trying to get everything in the level) but the cartoony vibe and light-hearted sense of humor makes it fun.

Do yourself a favor and play with Free Aim. It's waaaaay more fun

I just picked up a late 2011 Macbook Pro and had no fucking idea it was capable of high end gaming. I put Windows 7 on boot camp, fired up Steam, got Skyrim up and running and it looks and performs fantastic.

Now we'll see if I can get more than 30 minutes into the game.

I got +30 hours into that game before I decided that enough was enough.

Awesome that Broken Sword 5 got the green light through kickstarter. Good news it will be 2D. Better news if funding hits 1million, then Beneath a Steel Sky will get a sequel :w00t: (wishful thinking perhaps)

Started playing Just Cause 2 to give me a rest from Dead Space 2 for a while. I had it in my mind that everything about this game would be boring and almost unplayable. I'm not sure what gave me that idea but whatever it was was wrong. I'm quite enjoying it. A bit of a mix between GTA and Mercenaries. Very enjoyable.

Just finished Sleeping Dogs (well the main story). Fucking brilliant. Immersive storyline and probably the best open world game I've played. A sequel would be amazing.

started a replay of fallout:new vegas... it's been long enough that the annoying bits are less annoying and the charming bits are still charming. plus going for a sneak/barter/speech char makes it more interesting than rolling a bruiser.

in my last play-through i focused on speech/science/energy weps, i think speech is very op, you can solve pretty much anything with it.

Damn son. I think BM's been in development for several years now. Good thing I'm almost done re-downloading HL2.

Dead Space 2 is getting more interesting - back on the Ishimura (chapter 10), and it's amazing - it's all in a state of "cleanup" with plastic tarps and duct tape, and mops and cleaning solutions... really creepy is the Medical Bay - they've got blacklights on so the cleanup crews can see all the "fluids" splattered on the walls and floors... the attention to detail is amazing.

Its hard on me to play the multiple games right now so I've been focusing on Silent Hill Downpour for PS3. Just last night I got the trophy for doing all side missions.

Its alright its not the best. The ambient music at first sounds great but loses its feeling cause it becomes so redundant. The enemies seem limited too. There are about four so far that I've encountered. Out of the four you'll encounter circa two with slight altercations so the game may say theres six total enemies. As with most of SH games, some of the puzzles are outright outlandish on how to solve it. I shouldn't give it too much shit since I'm still halfway so its a decent game if you got a good sound system.

The sound aids the creepy factor of the atmosphere however a few puzzles trigger certain sounds that got annoying cause it kept playing until you did something. Which I found myself either muting the TV or lowering it to play music on my computer. I loved entering the Otherworld great visuals and concepts within it.

The last thing that I found a bit jarring is running through sections of the area then suddenly, "lag" as it tries to load more data from the media. Sometimes after this lag I find myself looking up and have to reorient myself.

But as I've mentioned its a fun game, I still can't judge it too much until I pass it.
