a bit awkward. but interesting. i think a variation on one of those big wavy arms inflatable things might be more interesting to watch than a human dancing to generate the tracking data. at least then it would feel more random and i wouldn't be thinking about the human on stage.

Also this guy is great too if you like that same type of Autechre itch:

▶︎ Requiem for 4125 | The Fellow Passenger (bandcamp.com)

Book of Needlecraft | The Fellow Passenger (bandcamp.com)

did i post this here already? has a bonus live set at the end as well.

In case it hasn't been mentioned yet in here, the most recent tsrono album on Point Source is an easy rec for Autechre fans -- cold, vast, personal yet mechanical, but friendly too. His second best so far imo.

And his current best:

I return to the latter every month or so.  I think this is the album I first found thanks to this thread and made me continue to read and search for more.

thanks for the spotlight/support!

came here to mention Calum Gunn's Messy Air that came out recently-ish. definitely one to give a listen for the AE fans, strong stuff that stands well on its own of course, but i'm sure right up your alley if you're into the Quaristice through NTS era AE more minimal/experimental pieces.

Another good one from this guy this year, especially the track "2021". Kinda seemed a bit all over the place when I first threw the album on, but it settles well after some listens

Just wanted to emphasize how Calum's music is absolutely fantastic.
And so is tsrono's.*

Ps: many 3OP releases could appeal to æ fans.

Ps2 : wow, Sote's tunes above sound wild ! Modal synthesis extravaganza

* sorry for the typo, now corrected.

Not so much "like" Autechre as "liked by" Autechre: a new tape / download from Minced Oath (aka Dunk Murphy of Sunken Foal, SuperValu) who played support at the 2023 Dublin gig and was (casually) pronounced as "probably one of the best musicians on the planet" by Rob himself! Glares is based on gamelan-like metallic percussion, resonant drones and reverb, occupying a space somewhere between Harry Bertoia's Sonambient recordings and SAW2.

Damirat slays. For example Es rotis (on the album Legdow) is ++++. I'm curious whether any Damirat listeners (besides myself) find this track to be a "crazy uncle" of a certain track by autechre; and if so, which ae track.

sounding awesome, thanks for the link.

It brought to mind Philip Corner's "3 Pieces For Gamelan Orchestra", purely because of the material.
