JCVD - 6.5 or 7/10

interesting story, really lacks on the action, not at all a typical van damme movie but worth it for the story alone. not that it's incredibly well written or anything, it was just entertaining to see jcvd in a role like that. i paid $3 to rent it and it was worth it.

also, i want to like it cause i love jcvd.

watched this last night - a 7.5/10 but deserves a 8/10 for being such a nice surprise.

apparently alot of it was ad lib... and he's talking about his own life. he's a good actor.

Heat - 3/10. this surprisingly long movie about the love between robert deniro and al pacino failed because they have no chemistry together. also it was fucking 3 hours long and nothing happened. also the ending pissed me off.

Generous. That movie is shit, pure and simple.

yeah i should have mentioned this. i didn't know it was ad lib. but jean claude is a great actor, and he showed it in this film. and the fact he talked about his life was pretty crazy. it's just the little guy in the leather jacket beating up jc was a laugh for me.

the game - 8/10

zodiac - 9.5/10

i fucking love most of david fincher's films, the lighting and cinematography, not to speak of the story and pacing, in Zodiac just looks fucking awesome. exactly how i picture san fran, captures the tone perfectly.

does anyone recommend panic room?

Babylon AD - was hoping this might have been unjustly slagged, with at least some good BladeRunner-ish scenery to admire. Started ok but unfortunately got more preposterous as it went along, it's like a sub-sub Fifth Element. 2/10. Though it does have Gerard Depardieu playing a Russian Mafia boss, which is kind of diverting. Actually all the actors seem to be from different parts of the globe - with Vin Diesel representing mumbly-ville - which adds to the bizarre factor.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

Russian Ark, because of the recommendation in some movie thread here. I must say I didn't expect much of it, but I'm stunned. What a wonderful voyage! Thanks to whoever recommended this.

russian ark is amazing. apart from the ENDING! Ugh, that shitty cgi water gets me so angry after an unbelievable cinematic experience.

Also Survive Style 5+: 7.5/10

quirky japanese goodness with amazing sets and costumes. and an odd message.

not really, i think it's probably his least interesting movie. I found it actually more entertaining than Ben Button but it had a much simpler straight forward plot. ITs basically just david fincher doing a tense real-time thriller type of thing. It's interesting to watch just to see him continuing his special effects CGI techniques from Fight Club like all the faux-room pan over shows

The game is my favorite movie of his followed by Alien 3, Zodiac probably comes in 3rd

Agreed.

just watched Drag Me To Hell last night and was fucking blown away. I went in with high expectations after this thread and was not disappointed. fucking classic raimi with at least two memorable pov fast moving evil dead shots. and the scene in the car with the lady was fucking breathtaking. favorite film of 2009 so far. fuck yeah. exactly what i wanted to see. highly reccomended.

Not exactly a film but I just finished von Trier's Riget I and II, incredible - 10/10

I really wished he had finished off the series.

funny, I just popped in the Kingom last night and got through the first two (out of 5, I guess) episodes. Pretty good so far, though not really scary yet. The best part was the "epilogue" to the first two episodes where Von Trier pops up on the screen and does his best Rod Serling/Alfred Hitchcock impersonation.
