If you can't handle dated feeling scifi stay away from this as far as possible. the score is excellent among Jerry Goldsmith's best, it might be one of the first ever movie scores to combine original fully orchestral material in between fully synthesized sections. However some of the matte paintings later on in the movie are ridiculously good, completely overgrown ruins. It got me thinking of how much better Indian Jones 4 would have been if they had done similar looking matte paintings for the rain forrest scenes. anyone have any 70s scifi movies to recommend? It's much more guilty of this than even movies like Logan's Run. It was strange too because Kubrick had done one of the best and most futuristic looking scifi movies previously, 2001. I like clockwork organge though but i chock up the odd non timeless quality of the movie to a stoned period perhaps in Kubricks life. After all it was the beginning of the 70s. chassis
Rosemary's Baby: Really good. It builds a nice tension through out. The end was lacking a bit. 7/10 Dont Look Now: Jesus this was a real freaker. I've been to Venice before so it was cool seeing all the buildings again, I think I even recognised a few streets. This one is more like through out the film and then one moment of pure terror. 8/10 Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Hide chassis's signature Hide all signatures Reveal hidden contents Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/43385-a-few-films-recently-watched/page/219/#findComment-1418344 Share on other sites

azatoth
Blood Into Wine 8/10 Documentary about Maynard James Keenan and his wine mentor Mike Glomski endeavour to start a vineyard and make wine in Arizona. An interesting look at both the trouble of starting a vineyard at an unusual place and Maynard as a person. He came off as a driven and passionate person and his interest in wine making came off as genuine and not some vanity project of a bored millionaire. He is still very much a noob in the wine business and acknowledges this. It's quite funny at times and Maynard definitely has a funny bone and is somewhat of a goof.
