Get Shorty - Wow, never seen it, totally fucking disappointing. Flatter than hammered shit, yawn-inducing, weak lols and sloppy editing.

This film has the incredible status of being the only film my mother has ever walked out of. too much swearing she said.

she forgot to mention it was also fucking shit!

If you're on a desert island and can only take one Elmore Leonard adapted film with you, make it Jackie Brown.

Although Out of Sight is 'quite good' TM joyrex, i thought you werent a fan of Soderbergh, maybe i was mistaken.

Boogie Nights

10/10

I very much enjoyed this film, the music was brilliant and the characters developed really well. I have a newfound respect for Mark Wahlberg, I thought he was excellent in this film. The ending was great when you finally understand why he was so famous, ha, brilliant.

Paul Thomas Anderson can do no wrong.

Oh, he's totally hit or miss for me.

I thought Out of Sight was absolutely superb.

Also included on my list of Soderbergh gems:

King of the Hill

Solaris (no matter what people say about it as a remake, I think it was incredibly well done)

Ocean's Eleven

Good, but not great:

The Informant

Sex, Lies, and Videotape

Bleh!:

Traffic

The Good German

Ocean's Twelve/Thirteen

The Limey

He is definitely a hit or miss director. Did you watch Che? I don't know how he managed to make such a boring movie... wait, two boring movies! It almost seemed as if he made it only to get awards and the hilarious thing about that is he didn't get jack shit and the movies were box office disasters!

Exit through the giftshop.

Mr. Brainwash was like some kind of male Amélie. Possibly one of the movies I could watch again and again.

Star Trek: Voyager Season I

My first TV-Series I watched as a child, funny to see it 10 years later through different eyes.

i'm surprised more people here haven't talked Full Frontal or Schizopolos probably S.Soderbergh's 'weirdest' movies, although i don't know if Schizopolis would appeal to Overlook, its more on the Charlie Kaufmann tip

I have not seen King of the Hill, but now i'm curious since i pretty much agree with that list, except i loved The Limey (although i admit , i've had a hard on for Terrence Stamp since he played Zod in Superman II)

Black Swan

was prepared to say it was one of the best movies ive seen in years, but the goddamn CGI completely fucked up the story.....it would have been so much more effective without it altogether...incredibly disappointed....its like seeing some masterpiece of art slowly unveiled, only to have periodic shit patches scattered throughout.

ive heard people say it was meant to be over-the-top. if that's the case then aronofsky can go fuck himself.

but no joke, Natalie Portman deserves an Academy Award for her performance. Ive never seen an actress tell so much with her eyes.

I keep trying to watch machete and getting stuck, on how crap it truely is. What happened to establishing shots ?? you move to a new scene, don't make me feel immediately claustrophobic, just fucking show me where we are, even though i of course know, but it has been done for years by decent film makers for a reason.

mleh, one could go on and on. But whatever.

It's like when you hear a crap electronic artist, many doen noe. But those that do sees you as a phoney bleck hoe. Shame though, cause parts don't blow.

A member of the non sequitairiate.

I really don't think the CGI in Black Swan was abrasively out of context or anything. Movie was solid imho.

dont get me wrong, its still a good movie...but the fact that I thought it was DAMN good up until the CGI shots, its like I wanted to choke Darren and say "YOU HAD IT ALL RIGHT....WHY? WHY DID YOU FUCK WITH IT?"

The CGI shots honestly removed me from being involved in her breakdown...I mean, heres a much simpler way of conveying the same images without having to literally show a transformation.

totally agree, see American Werewolf in London, still one of the best 'transformation' scenes done with no stop motion animation, only animatronics, practical effects and makeup
