edit: realize i'm also making a presumption here, could just as likely be as you say that he walked out into an intersection/part of the road and didn't notice this thing barreling down on him................... i think that's highly unlikely though. if you've ever walked around london before you KNOW that you have to be mindful of stepping out onto the streets. i almost got mowed down by a cyclist when i was there a few years ago by stepping out just a second too early... learned that lesson real quick.
