listen closer joyrex you noob

I want music to entertain me, not have to work at finding the music itself.

pleasure is nothing without the pain. plus there are so many glorious moments of melody creeping out of the chaos like LCC or pen expers

fol4 gives me bowel movements. Does that count?

who are you Clive Barker listening to a Coil record?

Ah, I know exactly what you're talking about. I subconsciously channelled Barker there. My bad!

Fuck, imagine a Hellraiser with Coil's music...

Sublimit. But to be honest Squarepusher is way more likely to make me tear up than Autechre.

I'm more likely to tear up Squarepushers shitty Hello Everything case.

I've cried to Montreal, Bike, and Pencha. Pencha moves me more than any other autechre track

edit: These times I was crying because of depression and other shit and not entirely because of the track although it feels insanely good to get out a good cry while listening to some of their more depressing melodies

Bleep Street will totally do it to me <3

I'm pretty sure I've cried tears of joy at the eargasmic piece of music that is Dropp. That and Cichli

444 made me tear up one time.

i took a bus ride from minneapolis to chicago in december. It was bleak. I listened to confield. I was moved, scared, and amazed. One of my fondest memories.

The last few minutes of Second scepe

funny you should say that.... i find the last few minutes of Second Scout more emotional, and in fact, i still get blown away by those last few minutes of that track. It sounds so crisp.

on the other hand i agree with you, i assume... because Second Scepe would be in my top 10 Autechre tracks. reminds me of the BoC track Telephasic workshop. I just love those sexy femme samples in Second Scepe... <drools>

I wish they'd sample femme voices more often, the way AFX does. OH well there will always be BoC "beautiful place, an Eagle in your mind" BYE BYE BYE

Surprised you took so long to reply. If ever there was a thread which sums you up entirely this is it. it's your natural habitat.

Caralaaaaaan......God is in......his holy temple........

Corc - probably more than anything else. wintry solitude, bittersweet optimism, quiet pride. reminds me of a certain sidewalk in Elmendorf AFB, AK.

LCC - generally just kind of makes me feel less alone. a "buddy" song. also reminds me of driving with friend/ex-roommate to the 2005 Autechre show in Seattle, cos we were listening to it :)

Dropp - if I've been working hard for a long period of time (like, weeks or months) without reaping the rewards.

the remix of Merzbow's Ecobondage - more occasionally, cos it's so pretty, reminds me of the fleetingness of existence.

Cap.IV - a lot like the Ecobondage remix. best experience was listening in a car in an intense afternoon rainstorm with golden sunlight bursting through the clouds

Vose In - struggle and confusion followed by hard-won and deserved reward. in a different way from Dropp, like on a macro scale whereas drop is just solitude and the cold comfort of a full moon after a long day/week of work

Piezo - doesn't quite make me cry but it tends to paralyze me with its beauty, enveloping, glowing, embryonic.

Arch Carrier used to make me cry, now I think it's kind of silly and overblown. like how the AE boys say that Amber now sounds cheesy and overly cinematic.

I definitely don't find Bleep Street depressing, far from it. To me it's nostalgia, looking back on wonderful times had

Oh god, now this song is depressing. The soundtrack to suicide

Back on topic to Autechre, the background synth in Clipper is such a great melody. At once beautiful, sad, and reflective

Maphive 6.1 always sounded like a Final Fantasy out-take to me.

I thought I was the only one stupid enough to think of that. Apparently not :D

Battle theme imo, or a timed escape event or something haha.
