Lots of time and effort seem to have gone into the noises, but to no avail?

Yeah, I like steinvord too. A lot of people seem to think it's Rich, but his music has more characteristics of the Pusher - especially if you hear all the songs (there's only 6 on the myspace). As far as I know nobody has figured it out for sure, but my guess goes towards an RDJ/Squarepusher collaboration.

Edit: I haven't heard that Hciwdnas guy before. Giving it a listen..

Some of the tunes are GREAT.

I think it's painfully obvious to anyone that this is just someone who can ape Aphex/Squarepusher's style, and obviously is influenced by them. Just because it sounds like RDJ/TJ doesn't mean it HAS to be them...

It's a bit odd that someone could have the production talent to make that music and then not do anything with it but copy existing styles?

That's just it - I think, perhaps (trying to remain respectful to the artist) there is no 'talent' behind it - just an ability to mimic existing techniques very well. Probably a bad analogy, but like when someone can copy artwork very well, but is unable to create their own.

odd? people with 'production talent' copying existing styles is quite common. that's what almost all music is.
