Yeah, there's the rub - perhaps I'm not really qualified to make an opinion on this since I haven't tried making music myself (well, waaaaay back on an Atari 1040 STe with STB Tracker, but that was just silly drum loops), and I am sure it is very hard to emulate anyone's style, but I still think that the talent here lies in the (re)production techniques, not the finished product.

I've been checking this now and then. Apparently nothing never happens. Whoever made that myspace hasn't logged in for months now.

In any case (asuming that this is not someone we know) the tracks are great. If the dude was really 18 by the time he uploaded the tracks (about a year ago) I would be really impressed. I think it should be celebrated that some kid got influenced by afx, pusher, and so on, considering nowadays taste in music by the average teenager. They annoy the fuck out of me. We have all the mainstream crap, and then we have the alternative kids being all hip trying too hard to be alternative.

To say the dude has no talent is simply ridiculous. The tracks are enjoyable. The way they evolve as a composition are already showing talent, they go somewhere, there is a musical ear and a thinking mind behind. In my 30s, I admit I would never be capable of some of these edits even after all the training in the world. I just wouldn't have the time or patience. I think some people just has the facility to think in microryhtms without getting massive headaches, they get better and faster results.

Besides the technical aspect, as someone also mentioned, check "untitled 11". That track doesn't match with any other person style. It shows theres potential for novelty beyond purely technical knowledge. I really like the noises on this one, its really banging.

Mesh Gear Fox is 17 apparently, and his tunes are pretty good. I'm also rather young but I haven't put up any of my music.

Apparently planet-mu contacted him for a demo and he never replied back. Would be great to have the tracks in release quality indeed. iyff acid is great gig material. I don't expect anything at this point tho.

It seems like there quite a few samples in the few tracks I listened to, but who knows?

that 2nd myspace link in the first post is garbage. one of the tracks is an anagram of steinvord. it's like a crap(per) version of snares music
