Maybe I'm just ignorant, but what do Clone Records have to do with the BOC bootleg EP? I do own it, and it looks distinctly American to me - the shape of the pressing, low-quality reground vinyl, inner sleeve with rounded corners, thick card cover.. Clone pressings on their own labels don't look like this, they appear to be made at the same facilities that Warp, Rephlex, ART etc use. Not that any of this is conclusive proof, but..

Well, I must be thick then - because no matter how I try with their frankly shit search engine, I still don't see it - right click and choose "view this frame in a new window/tab" and then paste the URL from that page here.

 

Nevermind, I figured it out - First click on Pre-Orders on the right, then search for 'afx' on the left, and once the results come up, tick off "show sold out items" on the right and submit. It's right after the HAB CDEP.

btw, the BoC bootleg was sold at Clone's shop, not released on Clone records. (like Carl craig bootleg Lps that were sold at warpmart but were not, of course on Warp records).

At Warp20 New York this weekend, I asked one of the guys from the Bleep office about the Aphex Twin signings. He confirmed that Aphex Twin has signed on to Warp for three more albums, but that RDJ has made so much money touring this year, it was unlikely that there would be an album out within the next year.

He also confirmed the obvious... that they have no control over when the music gets to them or what the music is at all. They get what they get from RDJ when they get it.

Exactly, I've been buying from Piccadilly for what must be 20-odd years and they know their shit. They're not fucking stupid and I just can't see them of all people trying to pull a fast one. That said, I'll take this whole thing with a pinch of salt just in case.

What bugs me most about this is that there's loads of great unreleased Aphex music (either on vinyl or on any format) that could have been put on this record - Melodies From Mars, Analogue Bubblebath 5, Philosophy Of Sound And Machine... How could someone cock up so badly?
