i can't believe how gullible you are, all it takes is a dupe for some of you

looks like we were "duped"...

The only person on this forum, apart from possibly Joyrex, who has imparted accurate information that wasn't in the public domain or via a PR department about an AFX release was kakapo for the Analord series. (If I rememeber correctly, amongst other things, he predicted the tracklistings, including the untitled track on Analord 1, and 'reviewed' them well before the release date, and also predicted the picture disc about 6 months before release.) And yet he's been completely silent on this. What does that tell you?

edit: wait, I'm kakapo

I seriously dreamt last night after consuming some weed pizza that an EP and LP were coming out in November of this years and the album cover was a drawing by Richard of a blue wooden chair against a white backdrop. Looked kind of like a kid's drawing. Anyway the samples from the album were pretty whimsical and light, with some layered work that included glitchy sounds against roaring synth bass lines in the style of the tuss but far more minimal. It was recieved by some at watmm to be a dissapointment because of the non serious nature/tone of his new material.

Aphex Twin isn't out to please people or make a cohesive EP. Richard D. James just does what he does best: create and put together sounds and twiddle the knobs. What he makes is unlike anything else. It evokes emotion and imagery, excitement and relaxation. This EP is packed with more detail and ideas than whole music careers. He does it all himself, and he's like a mad genius amusing himself, then releasing bits for us.

For all those who can't understand the harder, "unlistenable" songs... try listening to them in the same way you observe some scientific phenomena, like you are analyzing some strange organism under a microscope. There are lots of cool intricate patterns in these songs; you just have to concentrate to hear them.
