Chimera, if we're talking ambient then I can get a better top 5 going:

Opium - Algorithms

Gas - Nah und Fern

Time Machines - Time Machines

The Orb - Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld

Robert Rich - Somnium

I was gonna put somnium up there but sunyata was the first thing I heard by Rich, it was more influential.

Bob, I downloaded an album with that exact same cover art and it's supposed to be really good but I haven't listened to it more than once.

YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Epic ambient dub techno goodness for sure! Took at least a few listens to fully appreciate it I think. Intrusion - The Seduction of Silence on Echospace is right up there with The Coldest Season imo.

I own The Coldest Season and The Seduction Of Silence on CD. They sure are among the best albums I have been digging in the last few months.

I am probably going to purchase the remixes of Model 500's Starlight on Echospace [detroit] really soon too, by the way.

Also, you should totally listen to Global Systems Silently Moving - "Altering The Air" (my order is on its way). That album was produced by Rod Modell back in 1996, and it still sounds fresh.

I'm gonna try this again:

Ween - Quebec

boc - Geogaddi

Autechre - Confield/Tri Repetae

Coil - ..and the Ambulance Died in his Arms/Musick to Play in the Dark v1

The National - Boxer

I think this may be very wrong
