French being my first language, and the word looking very French, I instinctively want to pronounce it "Eau-Teh-Cruh". Eau as in Plateau, Teh as in Teck, and Cruh as in uh well good luck with that one if you can't say French Rs. :emotawesomepm9:

But generally I just say Aw-teck-er like most folks since I'm usually speaking English.

so it's like OH TECK CREW?

i kinda like that

If you're referring to my post, not exactly but close. The first part is about right...eau is a bit different from oh but close enough. But the end is more like cru as in crud without the d, and with the r pronounced like the French do.

We should post sound bites of ourselves pronouncing it all these different ways.

No I'm not volunteering.

If you want to compile all of them in a list, I'll do it, haha.

Try looping this sample a few times.

"Autechre?"

"Autechre."

Hmm funny enough I'd never thought of it with a British accent...always try to figure out how Americans would say it, since that's where I live, and I don't like it. In your sample, with British accent, it sound good.
