The beginning of Good Omens is hysterical, all the ramble about the time Earth was created being off by forty-five minutes, making Earth a Libra and then the horoscope.

I haven't finished it, but the footnotes are why you have a narrator.

man the whole book is hilarious. I was thinking about the narrator deal and while it's possible, it would stop the story every 2 seconds, making the movie 4 hours long. If they kept most of them anyway. Apparently Terry Gilliam was all set to do this but it didn't pan out. Sonofabitch.

It is essentially two parts, but it isn't broken up by credits halfway or anything, you just have to flip the DVD.

some Iain M. Banks sci-fi stuff would be cool - Consider Phlebas, Excession, The Player of Games or Matter would make wicked movies. i'd also like to see Perdido Street Station by China Mieville.
