Very very rarely. Most people fall into one of two categories: People who don't give a fuck about the music, or people who are faggot fan boys who tout how intelligent and trendy it is to listen to IDM versus other genres and gloat about it like I 'get it' or agree with them. I don't really like conversing with either type.

The ones who I do chat with - the context is usually sharing memories about driving around listening to albums getting stoned and how awesome those times were.

One time I was in an airport awaiting a flight with some orchestra players en route to some symphony gig and had a great discussion with a cello player about Aphex. I guess they studied a good deal of his music in their theory class because the professor saw a lot of similarities. She knew loads about the tracks from that perspective, but nothing about Aphex or electronic music. Probably one of the most interesting discussions I've had.

Yes. I have a small group of friends that all like Aphex Twin and all sorts of other IDM! A few of them used to hang around here a bit even.

I talk to a few of my friends about Aphex Twin and the conversations usually involve them making fun of me for liking him, or fairly properly discussing his music

I usually only discuss Aphex Twins when me and my friends are in the middle of rubbing our oiled penises together.

I discuss Aphex Twin and similar music with several of my friends, I know quite a few people who are into it, it's not really a big deal. Most of my friends are pretty enthusiastic about music in general and that's a big reason why we're good friends. I suppose I'm more obsessed with music than most of them though.

Once I spoke to another girl about Aphex and two days later "Oh I love Aphex Twin I already listened to Come to Daddy and Vhordosbn on youtube this is wicked"

I am a teacher and I play it to my classes at school. I like playing the scary ones on SAWII to the year 7s. Also, the Christmas quiz has several rounds where I play them a series of tracks and they have to say which one matches the mangled track title they have been given and why. They sometimes give each other nervous glances due to the impenetrable nature of the task, but usually they earnestly try to work out which one it is. I also did a lesson starter on Wednesday, delivered in a fiercely deadpan style indicative of high expectations, where each pupil had to think of two adjectives beginning with their alphabetically allocated letter to complete the sentence written on the board: Squarepusher's cat is _______ but Aphex Twin's jumper is __________. Wasteful and wobbly was my favourite.
