Question about sample from too many songs to count...

Here's an easy question that google is really not much helping with, so I figure I'll ask it to some people who might be better in the know that I am.

The sample I'm talking about is that "jump wide" sample that I know I've heard a billion times somewhere in Squarepusher, Go Plastic. I've also heard it in several mix sets (e.g., Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert at Pukkelpop 2002).Any help would be appreciated. Where does it come from? Any info helps.

And for the record, I am not planning on sampling it to put in a song or mix. Purely curious

i'm pretty sure it's almost fucked beyond recognition... chopped up all over go plastic, i promise

go! spastic starting around 0:35 in, around 0:45 secs in, i mean...

the most difficult part about it is it's only vocals so i need someone with greater d'n'b/funk/jazz depth that me for help...

Most of SPs "sound man talk" samples are of David Rodigan. There's one where he says "special dedication going out to Thomas" which is pretty lol.

That's definitely Rodigan saying "WHEEL up" later in the track.

Anyway Rodigan is a bit of a YouTube meme nowadays which is sad cos he's much much much cooler than that.

You plucked it out of the stream.

Solo Strike and everyone else, thanks for your help. Makes more sense now that i hear it unprocessed.

a track on luke vibert's latest album uses quite a bit of that sample, I forget which track though.

This statement could probably apply to any combination of sample / vibert album

whoa it's surreal as an american to watch an old white dude acting jamaican in front of a crowed of mostly black people and not getting booed off stage

edit: i probably sound ignorant as hell saying that but i've just never heard of this guy. my dub/dancehall friend is giving me a brief history of this guy right now

same here, it was quite a surprise! though i know a few local ska bands whose vocalists do pretty much the same thing.

rodigan is awesome.

i showed my twelve year old son the rodigan clip and tried to explain the concept of a selectah but he just thought the whole thing was hilarious, rodigan looked like his geography teacher, and i was ancient.

fuck.

Full on LOL kaini: you'r a fogie now.

It always cracks me up when people try to diss Rodigan. If Bounty Killa is dropping your name on a dub..pfft.
