yeah it seems to have an excess if aphex twin for some reason. All the same I thought i mixed decently despite my situation (didn;t have my regular setup was just going from laptop instead of laptop into desktop mangling software/effects back into laptop) Was fun regardless.

Also has some speedy j, plaid, analord, a tiny bit of dnb, and a bunch of my own songs that people were asking me to play so I played them but they are by far not my best or favorite :/

I also edited out some of the silliness i added in from youtube since we were chatting up a storm and i kept switching over to random stuff and i made this a regular mix instead of spastic interludes. Hope ya'll enjoy I really like getting feedback on my mixes, I thought the fadein/mix/interlude from afx into the michaelnicholas track was one of the best i've ever done. :)

I'm finally getting my short album mastered at the moment so look forward to that if any of you kinda like my style. My next album will be completely different and less "marching band stompy beats" even though that's what a lot of people say they like about my music. It will also be better produced as i finally have some decent headphones and a good room to mix in with my monitors :(

I was kidding. If I hadn't got into dnb, I would have probably never heard RDJ.

I dunno it could be...i'll listen later

Listening now, high as fuck no idea whats going on with this mix but I am deeply enjoying it! Thanks Brandi

yeah its a pretty spastic mix, and the dnb track is all kinds of messed up and needs to be taken out.

I tried to do the edit of the whole mix "hip hop radio style" where a DJ on a hip hop station will play stuff then either beat match into the next track, randomly play somethign that doesn't match up to the last track, and/or throughout the whole thing play short snippets or "teasers" of stuff without playing the full tracks and then going on to the next random thing.

In other words sloppy/lazy mixing :)

one of these days i'll do a proper well thought out mix that flows well and isn't so random, till then I suppose this is my style. :)

edit: also there was a time or two i accidentally turned on audio damage's "ronin" (one of my fav effects) in almost full wet mode since i didnt have my usual setup i forgot how sensitive the effect faders are in deckadance, still getting used to those.

Only until recently have I been more organized and planned out before going into a mix, but I really enjoy going into the thing blind, its often more entertaining and I think I get naturally better that way. Its just really challenging to keep the consistency on a level field... Lately I have been thinking that the occasional mistake here and there in a mix actually adds character and a human element to it. Perfection is machine and its no fun listening to that soulless trash. You had some great great gREAT! song selections in this mix btw... so please keep making more! I will happily listen to more.

thx :)

yeah i guess with music i'm pretty much all about improv. Anytime I play guitar live it's never the same exact thing. Even if it's in a band where it's a set structure of notes, chords, etc i always fluctuate and have to do something different and have to have at least one song where i can do whatever i want throughout the song as long as it makes sense and doesn't mess up the singer. A lot of times at open mic nights here in Raeligh I just grab a random other guitarist for my slot and say hey play 12 bar blues in A or some jazzy 9ths or lets just do a simple 3 chord minor song you pick the chords i'll just play and hum something. This seems to be the only thing that keeps music interesting to me these days.

I've had a guitar off an on fora few years now (acoustic) and I haven't learned one song even though I use it a good amount. Same with piano... I can spend hours sometimes just fucking around with them making up stuff... but I have no real desire to create a song or do something formulaic. I don't know just seems so less exciting.

No "A" in MichelNicholas

Also, I noticed the other day you didn't put in the song we collabed on. WHY!?!?!

EDIT: because it WAS in the original mix....
