this is a warped logic though, what about in times before electronic music? What would score high on your MI scale then?

I think listening to certain music is a symptom of possible 'mental health issues' but that doesn't dictate whether or not you are intelligent.

I mean I agree with you about all that. Also, peer group identification would probabaly be a large factor as well.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

It isn't that electronic music alone means a high intelligence. Analysis of the music would have to go into greater depths than just genre, like track by track. Then you could possiblly average the tracks and have a general idea of where that genre can be placed on the scale. As for the actual analysis part I can't really say how that would be done. Now lets say some incredibly sophisticated track comes out in the future that some incrediblly intelligent person hadn't heard, that doesn't make that person any less intelligent simply because he/she hasn't heard the song yet. Even if said person is "intelligent" nothing prevents him/her from listening to music that scores lower on the scale. The scale would just imply that if you prefer a lower scoring genre you probably aren't going to like higher scoring genres and/or tracks. Even certain electronic songs could score low. I

All hypothetical of course. Just entertaining the idea of such a scale.
