Based on album artwork / booklet insert, which are your top albums to own a physical copy of?

mellon collie and the inifnite sadness has a great booklet for a cd.

also second toughest in the infants by underworld has a beautiful lp cover and inserts. gorgeous.

I really like the CD case for Spokes by Plaid. The painting is nice, the font is cool, and the case opens at the bottom, not the side.

I totally agree on Spokes. Love that tactile "matte" finish feel too.

Speaking of colored vinyl, the new Flaming Lips "Embryonic" 2xLP is fun - 1 blue, 1 yellow, the sleeves are printed inside and out, and the album cover just grabs you. Cool pkg.

Definitely, along with OK Computer.

The limited edition of suspended animation has nice packaging and great illustrations. The two wierd records compilations are also nice.

Sorry I make you lush by Wagon Christ has a pretty cute cover.

Tool has a couple amazing album covers, but Lateralus blew me away. The clear gatefold pages uncovering layers of the human body, just like an encyclopedia. So cool!!!

i've got kid a on 10 inch vinyl, don't know if that is what yer talking about

the normal cd version has see through paper stuffs (dont know correct term) among the normal pages of artwork.

the limited thing (maybe not so limited?) is the book and cd version with big nice cardboard pages.

that lemon jelly stuff has amazing design.

Also the first wave of regular Kid a CDs have a hidden art booklet under the tray

ahh! that's true that's true! *throws my poor of quality post-first batch copy of KId A in the bin*

The packaging for "Sings Reign Rebuilder" by Set Fire To Flames (and pretty much everything released by Constellation) is very lush. Sam Blunden's work on "Warp Works" amongst others, check out his site

Yeah if an artist I like put out a record on picture disc, colored or marble vinyl, I have to own it.

All of Toytronic's catalog is really nice.

Oh and Detroit Underground do nice packaging too.
