dude. That's straight thuggin, Vai-style. I like it.

I would love the classic 303,606,909 combo. My buddy has an sh101 that I may try to swindle him for.

A few other things on my list are...

a Gibson Nighthawk

an Ampeg 8x10 bass rig

a decent Mesa full stack

a house to put this shit in.

it sounds a lot better than it looks

the jem? dude... i loved that too... when i was 12, and "passion and warfare" had just come out. there are far better playing and sounding guitars than that!

i do think it actually looks cool though. always have. but i don't think i'd ever want to be caught playing out with it. =)

c

i never understood the purpose of the handle. or the rest of the design. then again i never liked ibanez metal guitars.

Oberheim Two Voice.

On Friday I just got the new Oberheim SEM module, so now technically I'm half way towards my ultimate fetish piece of gear!

Waiting on my new SEM MIDI>CV version. That will be my lot on the gear fetish front for a while otherwise the misses will castrate me!

..... My other bit of would like to own fetish gear would be a fully working CS80. But there's not really such a thing as a fully working CS80 because apparently if you so much as breath on one it goes out of tune. Finding one that works would be like trying to find an investment banker with any kind of moral standards what so ever + you would have to be such a banker to be able to afford one these days. Therefore the CS80 is my ultimate piece of fetish gear

obviously, it's the 303. i think that is more of a "holy grail" type of nostalgia though.

realistically speaking, i always wanted a nord lead, a jp-8080, or one of those virus synthesizers.

I've already owned most of my dream guitars - Danelectro, Teisco De Rey, Norma, Jazzmaster.

Actually, that said, I'd still love a Burns 12-string...

But after multiple surgeries on my wrist I'm not really supposed to play guitar any more so it'd be kind of a waste to have one.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ everynun needs one!

a friend of mine has one of those.. amazing synths! though not very practical for melodic stuff. still very nice for processing guitar sounds.

Some of us want our guitars to be versatile, consistent and at the utmost quality rather than hipster fashion accessories... lawlz

I've wanted one since seeing what Sonic Boom did with one in E.A.R. - in fact, he had two of them set up next to each other and the harmonic resonance practically shook the building down with its almighty wub. Just such amazing textures, they're perfect drone instruments. He created these almost wave-like patterns in overlapping drone and it's still one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. (I really wish he would do more E.A.R. shows again.)

I'd never thought to run a guitar through one to process the sound, that's an interesting idea - I have a friend who used to run her bass through the filter matrix (or whatever it's called) of her Korg MS-10 which used to produce some amazing sounds.

Though really I could get one of those Electronharmonix POGs or HOGs synthesiser... actually that's something I could really quite happily add to my wish list. A HOG and a controller for it

yeah the HOG is great. i want one!

Well would strongly disagree that Ibanez guitars are only made for metal... they are quality instruments. I was joking but I was mostly saying that those old nice looking hipster guitars aren't usually as consistent or versatile as modern guitars. But versatility is really mostly just about pickups anyway as long as the wood isn't crap. (but its funny how active EMGs and shit sounds exactly the same if the guitar is made of plywood) my h-1000 is already a really really versatile guitar(mostly just because the seymour duncan JB in the bridge has an insanely dynamic range to give me nearly any tone I want)((with my line 6 x3 I can easily get it to bust all sorts of great tones.. like a bright single coil telecaster for trip hop versish stuff and then kick in thiick distortion that makes me not even want pull my les paul fitted with an EMG 81 out its case))

l_94dfa15bc63cac9ed88c16aae05f4052.jpg

oh yeah, ibanez make some nice guitars eg. jet king, AF/AFS hollowbody guitars (i have an AFS75T, it's absolutely beautiful), acoustics etc.. i just think that their metal guitars, such as the steve vai models and the various other metal themed guitars are pretty much designed to play metal.. it's a shame that their line of 7+ string guitars are designed to not only sound good playing metal, but look like a metal guitar. because i'd totally buy a 7 string guitar if it didn't have a ridiculously flat neck and hot-as-fuck humbucker pickups.

of course i forgot these classic guitars were built in the 60s for the hipster fashion scene 40 yrs later.

and of course burns, hofner and national were notorious for building shit guitars weren't they

I just want some charcoal or "off-black" replacement keys for my laptop. Owning a laptop for the first time in my life, to run Renoise, was my dream. Is that sad?

edit: replacement keys for marking white/black keys in the tracker
