Confield is where you end up after being sucked down the sinkhole at the bottom of the ocean. Not only is it a completely different landscape and atmosphere, it is a completely different dimension where our present laws of physics don't even make sense.

 

Draft 7.30 is after a period of time when this realm has been colonized and organized to a certain degree. Draft is to Confield as Tri Rep is to Amber, in that it is a more highly mechanical and organized stage of the same atmosphere.

Yes, two guys making fucked up beats. Plus (I asume)... what they create will also blow and boost their own minds and keeps them going in exploring.

Obviously it's very easy to make fun of stuff like this (and maybe it's a pisstake anyway)... But I miss how I heard music as a child; I miss my imagination going wild to the music and the music invoking all kinds of images and 'transcendent' meanings/stories in my brains. Obvious their output is 'just' two guys fiddling with gear and music data for hours until it makes a good sound - and if that's what you want it to be to you, great. But I'm surprised how intolerant our materialist reductionists are to anything like this. I mean gee, you don't have to read these kinds of posts (they don't often do much for me either). But is no one else already a bit tired of the hard, cynical, drily self-aware, sarcastic cultural zeitgeist in operation in discussions about music now? I'd rather hear a 12 year old bang on about what they imagine to their favourite albums than smart-ass coke-addled music journalists and their unemotional, 'knowing' diatribes.

I agree with you. That is why I rarely read reviews. But with 'Exai' I got interested to read them. But I wonder, after how many listens you can write a review.
