promo sounds real to me. kinda dig it too. sure, my/your/our fantasy new autechre is always potentially more stunning/innovative/technically impressive, etc.. i'd be surprised if the sampler was fake.

the more I listen to the sampler the more legit it sounds, although I won't be fully convinced until either an official announcement of it or the release of the album

I really really like the sampler, and would love for it to be real. And as others have said, if it's not, I would buy the music from whoever did make it.

The two tracks on that other drop.io link I didn't care for as much, though. Nothing grabbed me.

Do you not like any of the tracks from their last 4 or so releases? All my favourite Autechre tracks are scattered across their albums and eps. Theme of Sudden Roundabout and Reniform Puls. Parhelic Triangle and Bine. Maphive and Pir. Draun Quarter. Bronchusevernmx24. Rae and Vose In. Notwo and rale. Pro Radii and Iera. I'd rather they produced these vastly different albums so their catalogue as a whole is satisfying and different tracks take you to different places. Amber and Tri Repetae are so overrated by the most boring people. They're nowhere near as engaging and emotionally affecting as their later work. It's not just about taste, it stands to reason the more vigorous and visceral something is, the more it is able to get under your skin and move you, when listened to under the right conditions if you're in the mood and have the desire to actually engage with it. Play Untilted in pitch darkness very loud please as soon as possible. Forget the washing up for now.

Not sure if this is old news but from what I've worked out the album will be 67-68 minutes long (i.e. a good length :D ).

68 minutes/14 tracks = an average of about 4:50 per track. Hopefully some of those are 'ludes.

or...you could've just read the bleep announcement that it's an album on one cd, and on two records

that would equate to around about that kind of length :p
