Seriously, I've said this before and I'll say this again, being the hardcore Ae fan that I am: If you ever hear an ae track you don't like, you're just not listening the right way, or you haven't tried hard enough to figure it out.

it's true. i was curious to see how i felt about gay porn, so i downloaded some, and i didn't like it much, but i thought, "i should try harder," so i downloaded some more and found the kind i liked best, and i willfully spanked to it, and, sure enough, i eventually figured it out! and now i love gay porn.

I'm actually slightly optimistic, but careful, about the new album. That's all I can be, due to the lack of any real previews.

Is there anyone besides me that sees a slight difference in how they named the tracks compared to their later stuff? I mean, AE seem to go a little straightforward with "redfall" and "krYlon", then they mangle the keyboard to make something absurdly abstract like "O=0 and "os veix3". Also, what about "see on see"? I find it strange that it is refering to the senses.

Is that article online anywhere or did they send you a PDF? Just saw the site. Is the article called "Fake Files?"

the most difficult part is not reading what everyone says before it but then by the time you get to talk about it, you are saying things people said months ago and feel like a schmuck

Yeah, that's why I hate leaks the most...I like to wait, but then everyone's already talked about it by the time I hear it. Fuckers, be patient.

As for Tool faeks...I never heard any. All I downloaded was the supposed faek album which turned out to be real. I guess it was much closer to the release date.

fortunately the real cover turned out to be way more ambitious than this one. I wonder what Tool will do for the upcoming release..

hopefully another very dated looking Alex Grey painting

hear hear

The majority of Alex Grey's stuff is quite gaudy in the first place, they should really tread some new terrain on the next release....(musically as well, lol)

if you like music that is more pretentious than every idm artist put together but manages to distinguish itself as something a little different from your average metal band then go ahead. oh, but watch out for the fanboys, they're more facepalm inducing than boc and ae fanboys.

isis > tool imo

wouldn't really call tool pretentious. they are a pretty tongue-in-cheek kind of band. it's the fanboys who are the pretentious ones. and i would also class them equally as faceplam inducing as their ae&boc peers, maybe for different reasons. fanboys are generally horrible.

but yes, you should check out tool. been doing their thing for pretty much 20 years now.

the biggest illusion is yourself

wow a tool discussion in the ae subforum! yes, look into tool kramer!

mody - isis is amazing for sure. i wouldnt say they are better than tool only for a lack of variety. but i do enjoy them just as much

new tool record for sure will not have alex grey. 8 or so years of collaboration is long enough.

tool fanboys are the same as boc. they search for hidden meanings in a whle lot of nothing. difference is, tool puts things in for them. some are jokes, some are serious. like playing the beginning of intension backwards, maynard says to stay in school, listen to your father and mow the lawn or some shit. classic tool. now if he could stop dicking around with pussyfur and record some tool shit damn it!

oh yea. autechre. preordered the other day. got the 24 bit wav because hat jackass in that youtube video told me to.
