Autechre - Oversteps (WARP210) [The MegaThread]

Recommended Posts

It's extremely complex in so many areas, but so easy on the mind. It's going to be one of those records for me that's impossible to memorize, and therefore won't ever get old. It's a challenging listen, but not just for the sake of being a challenge. Man this is so fucking musical.

So well said... it doesnt even feel like this song and that song... it feels like a single experience and thereby very difficult to memorize

...but then they get really weird after that.

This is good to hear, in combination with the comments about melodies & accessibility.

I still haven't listened! How long can I hold out? :whistling: I'm very excited. Probably when Bleep offers MP3s...I will listen.

Is it just me or is ilanders played twice in row in this m4a? explains the total length of this file too..

You know how Autechre albums almost always sound better with repeated listens?

This one moreso than usual. Like water becoming more saturated with a solute via stirring.

My mind keeps reaching for metaphors about colored lights or fluid. Purple and green.

I am REALLY digging all this simple FM and just blatant synth cheese.

They're trying to change the way they are listened to.

Maybe that's the easy way for them to determine who leaked the promo album. Each promo copy might double another track in the listing. Lolz

TREALE

:braindance:

(Bob Wilson) Sorry... you created that reality tunnel, you can find your way out... You built the Trap... you know the design better than anyone...sagatsfz3stage.jpg
