Well, the track seems to just exist if you want a quiet hum on in the background, some form of noise/additive. Sure it's a bit dull but it works.

Easily one of my favourite autechre tracks. Nothing like it if you find the right situation to listen to it in. Catnapping while hungover is perfect.

for the record subrange 6-36 is a brilliant piece but it is also one of the most difficult Ae works apparently. I grew to like it after a few listens but it serves better to listen to while falling asleep or doing homework or something. Brilliant track, all the haters are just blind.

@ Kiya: Yeah it was only released as a digital download, on Bleep and I'm pretty sure iTunes as well.

listening to it now and my god it's amazing. some of the stuff going on is so subtle. i never heard any of this stuff before but learned to appreciate the extended nothingness of it. but it's so much more than just nothingness. much love!

Whatever. If anyone on this board released a track that sounded anything like this, everyone would hate it. Accept that this is a shit track... Not only that but a major disappointment to everyone who actually purchased this turd...

Let's ALL hope the new album is WAY better than this...

Stop making grand sweeping statements thinking you represent the collective Autechre fans. Your arguments are rigid and steep and leave no room for any sort of anomalies or exceptions to your claim.

"Accept that this is a shit track." - Not only is this just inherently retarded, but unless you are the omnipotent all seeing mind, you have absolutely no authority to make normative claims about the track. To say that you hated it, or to critique it in specific detail is completely acceptable, but to outright try to tag it as a shit track is brazen to say the least. Not only that but you also exercise your authority in trying to otherwise convince people who already have made up their mind that it is a good track.

Me and Pigster both find it to be a quality track, and there have been threads about it before where many members have expressed their satisfaction with this track. If I remember correctly, I think the split was almost 50/50 between people loving it and people hating it.

My advice to you:

1: Stop trying to generalize the entire population of Ae fans according to your specific tastes

2: If you had worded your post differently it would have been totally valid but your exaggeration and outlandish claims fucked it up for you

3: Try and be more open minded and don't expect Ae to sound one way or another - YOU are the only one who is losing when you set expectations for their sound

4: Just generally stop being such a prick

5: Read the rules
