yeah, i come from a computer science background so it's kind of where i feel most at home (though i've recently started using supercollider a lot more than max). max4live is certainly pretty sweet though.

in terms of ae, my favorite track is their best track.

Mmm, let’s see. I bought Artificial Intelligence the week it came out in 1992 and was blown away.

Since then , I’ve bought every Ae release, and now own every album on vinyl and cd, most of the Eps on vinyl and CD and every Gescom release - including Lego Feet and Dual Purpose - on vinyl. I also own about 30 CDs and vinyls with Autechre and Gescom tracks or remixes.

So, in answer to your question, yes, I have heard much Autechre. I’ve probably listened to them most every day of the past 18 years.

I love Weisensee because it is grinding, sleazy, philthy funk mixed with Autechre’s glorious touch for melody. Try this yourself: Sit in the dark. Turn your amp up as high as it’ll go, pitch the deck up to about +4 and close your eyes. If you don’t wet yourself at just after 4.00 minutes when that buried melody kicks in, I’ll eat my hat.

Is it Weisensee favourite track? At the moment, yes. That said, if you ask me next week, I may well tell you its Surripere or Uviol or Acroyear2 or We R Are Why or Puzl or Aire Kaaiya or the remixes of Earth’s Coda Maestoso or Boogie Down Bronx.

That’s the beauty of Autechre - they have such a massive repertoire of amazing, heart-melting and brain-squidging tracks that they can hit every emotional spot, no matter what your headspace at the time.

I can not find the Autechre (Aphex Twin) remix anywhere.
