harold budd & brian eno - the plateaux of mirrors

thomas koner - nuuk

I was totally blown away when I discovered those albums earlier this year.

Everything Harold Budd touches turns to gold I reckon. Absolute champ

Lustmord, anyone? :emotawesomepm9:

Why listen to Lustmord when you can listen to Deathprod, early Stars Of The Lid or Thomas Köner?

Can't say I've ever gotten into Lustmord. I have Heresy on my computer but I've only listened to it a couple times.

O yeah I totally forgot about V Snares. SHAME ON ME SHAME ON ME SHANE ON ME lol shane....

Stone in Focus will be the song played at my funeral hopefully not soon.

Hah yeah people underestimate Snares versatility no doubt.

gotta admit I actually think the one track you posted there is enjoyable. I tried some of his music but hated it.

are there more VS ambient tunes?

His only ambient album is My Downfall (Original Soundtrack).

He has a few classical/Hungarian tracks on Rossz csillag alatt született that I fancy.

I agree, some of his music is a bit too aggressive for my taste. Particularly his earlier stuff.

However I do like his recent album Detrimentalist, because it's much more structured.

oren ambarchi is great! he plays all the time in melbourne, i should go and see him sometime. one of my friends knows him so i might get to meet him lol.

You definitely should go see him. His drone stuff is fucking excellent.

Maggie T already mentioned Orb Live 93 (which I think is superlative, it remains my favorite Orb release to this day), I'd like to give a nod to the KLF's classic "Chill out"

Also the Caretaker stuff from v/vm is fantastic. Much of it is available for free: http://www.brainwashed.com/vvm/micro/caretaker/index.htm

Have a listen -

I havent long joined this bboard and have been browsing through some of the topics but i felt i needed to reply and say thanks for putting my album Veror Aesik as one of your favourite ambient music albums :)

ApollyoN is now retired but its still nice to think that my swan song album is still liked.

So...erm...thanks :D

Still gets played around these parts, yeah! Such a shame H/S doesn't put stuff out these days, it was a brilliantly consistent label.

(You might also want to check my thread in the WATMMixers forum ;) )

I totally agree. I really enjoyed being part of H/S Records. It just had a nice community feel to it. I have no idea what Darren (the record label founder) is doing now mind (despite trying to get hold of him).

Mind you i did do other music under the name Cirix (some good some crap). Havent done anything in over 4 or 5 years id say but i do have the itch to do something now :D

By the way i will check your thread :)
