if they ever did an mc lp/ep i think it would be 100000x better if the mc just gave them like 3 verses and ae just cut it up however they want it to fit in said song.

agreed.

i listen to some hiphop but i just can't see ae working well with an mc. their music is sophisticated (to say the least) and all the tiny details i love about them would be erased by someone rapping over it. i feel like the only reason people cite this is because ae has cited hiphop influences and, while you can certainly hear them in some of the beats, to say they were heavily shaped by hiphop is, to me, suspect. to say that their music could function as a hiphop beat seems downright foolish... i pity the poor soul that tries to rap over one of their jams.
