Cheap Casio keyboards, Machinedrum and Max MSP

i havent heard the album i just like dreaming about using Ae's studio. MAchinedrum seems kind of lame, isnt that like an Electribe?

they will probably bring it up in interviews and such soon ;D

Laptops, CME Bitstream, Max/MSP, a mixer and compressor.

Got a feeling they'll leave the Elektrons at home this time round.

pretty sure one of them were talking about using the Yamaha fs1r a lot, as well as FM8 in a recent interview. both are FM synths.

do you think they use Max4Live? Is that stuff worth the hype? I use Live 6 and it's fine for me, just wondering,

they could have easily used Max4live on this album. used some of the generative patches on maxmsp to trigger ableton live

i dont think most of the sounds being generated or heard on this LP come from max/msp, i think if anything max/msp is only being used for sequencing/generative stuff.

definitely a more software centric album, far more than Quaristice which had H3000's and weird hardware effects all over it.

steampipe is amazing as fuck. i really should use it in some tracks.

my guess is max4live was released after they had finished 95% of the album... that said, they've got a thousand and one ways to use max for midi triggering anyways. i think trying to determine what fm synth they used or what have you is foolish -- there are so many options, most of which can yield nearly identical results.
